This issue celebrates the 500th anniversary of the birth of Andrea Palladio, the Italian Renaissance architect whose designs provided the theoretical underpinning for the rebirth of classicism in Britain in the eighteenth century. Dr Frank Salmon, Richard Hewlings, Professor Robert Tavernor, Richard Morrice and Charles Hind are among the learned contributors whose articles also serve to introduce the Georgian Group's Palladio Quincentenary Festival which ran through November and December 2008.
The magazine also includes casework
reports from around the country, book reviews, comment, details of our
events programme and our usual miscellany, including prize quizzes.
