Preserving our Georgian heritage is not just about short-term campaigns
but about the longer-term work of educating and informing. The Georgian
Group's education and activities programme has several strands:
improving visual awareness
giving children access to Georgian buildings
providing conservation advice to householders
running practical skills masterclasses and specialist study courses
arranging visits to Georgian buildings and gardens both here and abroad
curating exhibitions
holding academic symposia
disseminating primary research through our highly-regarded Journal
publishing best practice guidance on matters ranging from window repair to enabling development.
Members of the Georgian Group have access to an exclusive and varied
events programme, including visits both in the UK and abroad to houses
and gardens not normally open to the public – from the palatial (Badminton
and Wentworth Woodhouse) to the charmingly intimate, such as Bradwell Lodge in Essex. See the 'Events by Month'
link on the left for details of the current programme. Some
events run by the Group are open to all.
